What You Need to Know About Visiting Someone in the Macomb County Jail
In order to visit an inmate in Macomb County, you must follow certain rules and procedures. They include but are not limited to the following.
The Macomb County Jail and Macomb County Sheriff’s Office are located at 43565 Elizabeth Road in Mount Clemens. The phone number is (586) 469-5151. You may also use this phone number for bail bond information and related processes regarding the person you are visiting.- Inmates are allowed two visits per week.
- Only three people can visit an inmate at one time.
- Visits are limited to approximately 30 minutes.
- Visits are conducted by video.
- You must register 24 hours before visiting someone in the Macomb County Jail.
- Visitors must bring their own valid identification card with them.
- Individuals who are 17 or younger must have an adult with them.
- Visitors must arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled visit.
- If inmates are in the hospital at the time of this visit, similar rules apply. Additionally, a visitor pass must be obtained from the Prisoner Information Office. No more than two visitors will be allowed at one time. If the individual is in critical condition or intensive care, family members may visit daily and a reasonable amount of time per visit will be permitted.
Paying Bail at the Macomb County Jail
If your friend has recently been arrested in Macomb County and you want to pay the bail, you can pay at the courthouse during normal business hours. At other hours of the day, bail can be paid at the Sheriff’s Office. You may also pay online or by phone through Government Payment Services, but if you use this option, a credit card fee will apply.
